The video on assembly is very helpful. Instructions with the machine are useless.The handle cannot be used if the end flap is fitted. Better pictures of parts would be useful. The splitter surprised us with its capability, we split some fairly knotty bits with relative easy. Though we found a few it wouldn't cope with. The guard does limit the size of log that can be split. Without legs the splitter would be back breaking to use unless you could sit on a low stool, but you have to lift logs higher with the legs. Two handed operation keeps your hands out of the way while splitting. All in all a great piece of kit - ideal if you are splitting straight grained wood/soft wood, ok for some knotty stuff. Difficult to use if your logs are not sawn with parallel ends as they can jump out, knotty ones may not split fully before the ram reaches its limit.Husband was dubious about it, but it does save his back from wielding an axe or hammer and wedges, though you still have to lift the logs up! The ramstop would reduce time between logs but haven't fitted it yet.It is a heavy machine best moved on a level surface.

Great piece of kit, i did have an issue but its was resolved promptly. This is the second piece of equipment i have bought from Crytec and i wont hesitate to buy more should the need arise. Its nice to deal with a company that resolves issues immediately.

This replaces a 15yo very similar looking [same body] machine that has been scrapped due to no spare parts. .
This one is of sturdy construction and has only manufacturing fault - the tube that sits on the ground fills up with water and in just two weeks has rusted the internals. End caps removed to allow moisture to escape.
Other than that, the mandated "safety shield" is an exceptionally well manufactured, weighty and costly item BUT is an utter waste of time in the real world, so it is in the dustbin.
I am NOT a fan of the mandated two handed arrangement as the operator has to have his head nearer the action than with the "old fashioned" two lever design. I note that others have modified log-splitters such as this for two handed operation from the rear of the machine.

No instructions to assemble this splitter, but i had a similar one way back, splitter is on point and splits anything you throw at it
